WOM (Women on Mission)

God has given each of us a task to complete in this life. We are women with a mission! Fulfilling your life’s mission on earth is an essential part of living for the glory of God. Our mission in life includes serving God, serving other believers, and serving the world at large. Our mission is a continuation of Jesus’ mission on earth: we are to go into the world and tell others the good news of God’s saving grace. We are also to build each other up in our faith and use the gifts God has given us to serve one another. Though it is a big responsibility, it is also a wonderful privilege to be used by God.

Doing missions together is a beautiful and fun discipleship tool for head, heart, and hands growth. Your faith expands tremendously when you step out of your comfort zone and see firsthand the miracle of participating with God in His redemptive work.

Serving others through a missional lifestyle and supporting missions are two of the six key objectives of Women on Mission:

  • Pray for missions.
  • Engage in mission action and witnessing.
  • Learn about missions.
  • Support missions.
  • Develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle.
  • Participate in the work of the church and the denomination.

Do you want to raise awareness and funds for our annual mission offerings? Do you want to help our local Roanoke Valley Baptist Mission Centers? Do you want to help our college students here at Haran Baptist remain faithful to the Word? Do you want to see millions of children come to Christ through Operation Christmas Child and The Greatest Journey? Whichever way you decide, Women on Mission provides a way for you to support missions through giving.

Pray that God will lead you to answer His call to use your gifts and talents to be the hands and feet of Christ in our church, our community, and our world.

Opportunities to serve

If you are willing to use your gifts to serve others, we have several ways for you to help our church members and those in our community while social distancing. We need people to make phone calls, send cards, and/or run errands for those who cannot or do not feel comfortable leaving home. If you feel led to help, please let us know through the form below. Thank you in advance for your service.
