Mark was born and raised in a Christian home in the Roanoke area graduating high school at William Byrd. He received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Ferrum College in 1995 majoring in Instrumental Music with a Theater Minor. He has a background in classical, jazz, handbells and vocal.
Mark was called to ministry in April of 1999 working with teenagers in the church he grew up in, but with no ministry education or experience, only a desire to introduce teens to Christ. Mark spent the next several years reading, studying, learning and was officially ordained into the ministry in November 2013. Mark began his ministry at Haran in May of 2016.
In his spare time Mark, being a former athlete, enjoys officiating youth, high school, and adult soccer, and youth softball. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Karie, and their three daughters, Haley, Lilly, and Makenna.
Mark’s desire is to equip and teach teenagers to be youth ministers in their schools and to their friends.
